Option to open word doc or PDF in native program instead of opening new window in browser

There should be an option to open a word doc or PDF in WORD or Adobe directly instead of opening it in another tab in the browser. WORD documents when opened in the browser look funky and we rarely edit documents in the browser, almost always edit in the native program.
