Allow Dynamic Fields to use existing fields for special conditions

I have a dynamic field pointing to a user mini directory. But why can’t I make an already existing field the specific condition for a section to show up. Seems like duplicative work and all information gathered for a case should transfer to the case after it's retained. Right now they way this is set up, all that information will be lost or duplicative.
