You can you just set a the hourly rate or task with a value as an exception to the hourly rate under each staff setting or in the task mini directory. That item will come up as a chose in the time entry drop down menu. You can also set the a value as a task in the mini directory. See screen shots. The Problem I have is that I do not want my time entries on the value tab in flat fee cases or contingency cases but I do want the hourly rate if I need to print a time sheet. The problem for contingency cases is that put on the value tab the time with the rate if you select billable which adds the amount over and able the contingency case attorney fee into the settlement memos. Needles worked much better in this regard.
Who ever set up that problem function did not realize that 85 % of the Neos users charge on a continent fee basis not on an hourly basis. Not understanding that if a client pulls a contingency case and you have to go to fee arbitration you have to provide your time and the amount ordinarily charged for the tasks performed by the law firm. The function should be exactly the opposite.
